Headaches after a car accident are common and are often not due to direct head trauma.
We all know how annoying headaches are and how damaging to your day they can be. Headaches after a car accident are common and are often not due to direct head trauma. Often these headaches are actually caused by complications with your spine; these are called Cervicogenic Headaches.
Cervicogenic Headaches:
Cervicogenic Headaches are headaches that are not related to head trauma. They are related to injuries or lesions affecting another part of your body, most often the neck or head. A lot of the time, a headache after a car accident is a Cervicogenic Headache rather than head trauma. To treat this requires a holistic approach, where the therapist doesn’t simply treat the part of the patient with the most obvious issue, but instead finds and treats the problem at its source.
